E-Coat Description

Parts are immersed in a water-based solution containing coating material. The parts are electrically charged which causes the paint or coat to adhere.

The production process parameters are established for each part, and the recipe is locked in through our proprietary system, ensuring repeatability on future orders.

The Electro-painting process for either Anodic or Cathodic E-coat paint typically consists of a zinc phosphate pretreatment, followed by the bulk, barrel high-voltage electro-deposition of either the anodic or cathodic paint resin systems.

After the paint application, the parts are rinsed in permeate and then baked/cured on a continuous belt oven to cross-link/polymerize the resins. Post treatments for lubrication or corrosion enhancement can also be applied if required.
